I am a transplant from the Great State of Texas. I was raised in El Paso, Texas, a city whose population is 80% Catholic. My childhood memories are lovingly tied to my Catholic faith as I grew up in a city rich in Catholic traditions. I remember participating in Posadas, preparing Lenten meals, celebrating with “cascarones” each Easter, tossing water balloons with neighborhood children to celebrate St. John the Baptist’s Feast Day, and attending church ”kermes” (bazaars) each weekend during the summer. I was blessed to have parents who believed in a Catholic education.
My husband, Bob, and I are parishioners of San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills, CA. We have two adult children, four grandchildren and one great-grand baby boy. Currently, I am a member of San Antonio’s Family Ministry and at St. Martin’s in Yorba Linda, CA, a member of the Respect Life Ministry and Adoration Ministry. I also serve as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA. I am a long time member of the Diocese of Orange’s Hope and Healing after Abortion Ministry. My newest ministry is training as a docent for Christ Cathedral’s Docent Ministry.
I am enjoying my first year of retirement having worked many years as a metallurgical engineer in the aerospace field, as a middle school math teacher in local school districts and most recently, as an education consultant for a national math textbook company.
My relaxing activities are reading, sewing, and enjoying long walks outdoors. You can find my husband and I on the road touring the Western states in our Casita trailer and visiting the many Catholic churches all along the way.
